Manuvis Corporation is hosting a two day “Lean Manufacturing Workshop” at their office January 15, 16, 2009. The objective of this 2 day workshop is to provide a hands-on experience geared towards improving the manufacturing process.
With the current state of the economy manufacturers need to explore every avenue they can to eliminate waste in the manufacturing process. Manuvis is sponsoring this event to provide manufacturers an opportunity for a cost effective education in Lean.
Learning objectives of the course:
Learning Objectives from Mass to Lean Simulations
| Learning Point | Benefit/Deficiency | Demonstrated By: |
| Throughput | *Higher revenue, morale and quality (less potential damage by reduced WIP) when achieved |
*Higher profit per part for end item product |
| In-Station Quality | *Increased throughput | *Improved “OK” to ship *Improved customer acceptance *Higher revenue |
| Material Logistics | *Effect on inventory flow *Call system efficiency *WIP disruption to sequence |
*Market place vs. warehouse *Right sized containers *Out of sequence % |
| Teamwork | *Problem solving effectiveness *Improved morale & lower stress in Lean Round |
*Higher throughput *Operator survey = positive |
| Visual Control | *Max/min levels *Signage *Call system (assistance) |
*Higher throughput & quality |
| Work scope standards | *All processes standardized *Balanced work loads |
*More definition on operator instruction sheets |
| Continuous Improvement | *Higher productivity when waste is removed | *PM to constraint machine *Uniform flow to takt time *JIT stock deliveries |
| Implementation Steps | *Demonstrates the before and after lean experience | *Hands on experience of improved flow to customer demand |
| Batch Build to Sequential Build Processes | *Reduction of WIP, improved quality, higher throughput, morale boost *Synchronous vs. non- synchronous flow = improved revenue |
*Improved customer acceptance, positive survey results and higher revenue *Quicker time to customer |
